Soul Toll Privacy Policy
Last updated 6 November 2026
Soul Toll is a game by Shroudlight, an independent studio in Australia. This policy explains what data the game handles and the choices you have.
In short: you don't need an account, your save stays with you, and Shroudlight does not collect your personal information. The game has no analytics. It does use Google's advertising service, which processes data as described below.
No account
Soul Toll has no account or sign-in, and it never asks for your name or email address.
Your save
Your progress and settings are kept on your device. They are not sent to Shroudlight. Uninstalling the game or clearing its data deletes them.
If Android backup is turned on, your phone may include the save in your own Google backup. That copy belongs to your Google account, and Shroudlight cannot see it.
No analytics
The game includes no analytics or tracking software other than the advertising software described below. It has no purchases.
Advertising
Soul Toll offers rewarded ads, which play only when you choose to make an offering at the altar. It shows no other ads. To provide them it uses the Google Mobile Ads SDK and Google's consent software.
The game checks your consent status and starts Google's SDK when it launches. When you return after time away, it also loads an ad in the background so that one is ready at the altar. This means Google receives the data below during normal play, even if you never watch an ad.
Google's SDK collects:
- your IP address, which can be used to estimate your general location
- how you interact with the app and ads, such as app launches, taps and video views
- diagnostic information, such as app launch time, hang rate and energy use
- device and account identifiers: the Android advertising ID, the app set ID and, where applicable, other identifiers tied to accounts signed in on the device
Google uses this data for advertising, analytics and fraud prevention, and it is encrypted in transit. Ads may be personalised, depending on your region and your choices. Google's use of this data is covered by the Google Privacy Policy, and Google explains how it uses data from apps that use its services.
Shroudlight sees only summary reports from Google, such as how many ads were shown and what they earned. We do not receive your advertising ID or anything that identifies you.
Your choices
- Don't watch ads. Ads are optional, and the game can be played without them.
- Change your consent. Where consent or opt-out choices apply in your region, the game shows Google's consent message, and you can change your choice at any time under Privacy options in the game's settings.
- Reset or delete your advertising ID. You can do this in your phone's Google or privacy settings.
- Manage Google ads. You can adjust ad personalisation in My Ad Center.
Device permissions
The game uses internet access, network status, vibration and the advertising ID. It does not ask for your location, contacts, camera, microphone or files.
Children
Soul Toll is not directed at children, and ad requests are marked accordingly. The game is intended for ages 13 and over. If you believe a child has used the game and you have a concern about their data, please contact us.
Google Play
Google Play handles downloads and updates of the game under Google's own terms and privacy policy.
If you email us
If you contact us, we use your email address and message to reply to you. We keep them only as long as we need to help you, and we do not share them.
Changes to this policy
If the game's data use changes, we will update this page and the date at the top.
